Florence Wood - Obituary

lorence Beatrix Wood, loving mother, devoted wife, world traveler and fashionista, left us suddenly on Saturday, August 16, 2008. Florence, born to the late Leroy and Hortense Boston, Sr., leaves to mourn her precious memory and fabulous life, a loving and devoted husband, John D. Wood, affectionately known as Poppa John, two sisters, Jean Ellison (Percy), Margaret (deceased), three brothers, Leroy L. Boston, Jr., (Joanne), Carl Boston, (deceased), Richard Boston (Barbara) four daughters, Pia Denise Sutton (Erwin), Carla Marie Johnson, Kadriye Diane Brunson (Vincent), September Tanya Theresa Dietrich, one son, Kenneth Allen Johnson, Jr., and two other daughters Amber Hedgebeth, and Kierra Johnson. Eight incredibly loved grandchildren; Bishop John and Tyler Dane Dietrich, Kasha V. and Kennyetta R. Brunson, Devon and Logan Johnson, Latonya T. Askew and Taylor Brown. Three great grandchildren, Tannis Q. Collins, Marco E. Duncan, Jr. and Henry S., Sermons III, one aunt Blanche Ida Johnson, father and mother-in-law, John R. and Kathryn M. Wood, Sisters-in-laws, Letty Lefebure (Richard) and Teresa Wood, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted family and friends. Viewing will be Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2210 Callaway Street, Hillcrest Heights, Md. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, August 22, 2008. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
