loyd Peter Weincek, 88, a resident of Edgewater for more than 25 years and formerly of Annapolis, died of natural causes Nov. 4 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Sept. 25, 1919, in Chicago, Mr. Weincek attended the University of Illinois. He was an aviation cadet in the Navy from 1941 to 1942 and served in the Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He was a medical sales consultant for Bauer and Black, where for 14 of 15 years he was top salesman. He retired from A.J. Buck and Son in Cockeysville where he was salesman of the year for nine consecutive years. Mr. Weincek was grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Annapolis Council 1384 and a 4th degree knight, Admiral Benson Assembly. He also was a member of Annapolis Elks Lodge 622, American Legion Post 136 in Greenbelt and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater. He coached Catholic Youth Organization football and baseball. His interests included golf, fishing and baseball. His first wife, Julaine Weincek, is deceased. Surviving are his second wife, Catherine Weincek, whom he married in 1992; three sons, Craig Weincek of Panama, Peter Weincek of Bel Air and James Weincek of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, MaryAnn Birgel of Odenton; two stepsons, William Peake of Chester and Daniel Peake of Edgewater; one stepdaughter, Katherine Sylvester of Edgewater; one brother, Earl Weincek, and two sisters, Mae Vizzone and Terry Weincek, all of Chicago, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was the son of the late James and Maryann Wiencek and the father of the late Floriann Weincek. Friends and family are invited to Floyd's Life Celebration at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday from 3 to 7 PM. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, November 8, at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Edgewater, MD. Interment private
