rances Arita Dove, died peacefully at her home in Heritage Harbour on Monday, May 28, 2012 after an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Charles Reginald Dove, her son, Carroll R. Dove (Anna), her sister, Luci Brashears Graham and her brother, David W. Brashears.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Lee Brashears.
Mrs. Dove was born on November 24, 1916 in Mayo, MD to the late David W. and Irma Mae Brashears but lived most of her life in Annapolis. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist church and a beloved member of the Annapolis community. An accomplished poet, her works were much in demand for countless celebrations and special occasions. She recently completed her final work, specifically to be read at her memorial service.
Other survivors include her two grandchildren, Leah R. Swiffin, of Wilmington, NC and Marc A. Dove of Savannah, GA and four great-granddaughters, Marley Dove, Hannah Smit, Ellanor Dove and Magdalene Dove. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all with an indomitable spirit until the end.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church, 1300 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Sunday, June 10 at 2pm. Private inurnment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations in her name.
