Frances McDonald - Obituary

rances McDonald, 100, of Crofton, MD passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Annapolis, MD. Born in Nanticoke, PA on September 14, 1919 to the late Anthony and Julia Margelewicz, she was a homemaker and beloved Army wife for over 22 years. Frances was a devoted Catholic and was a longtime member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Oxon Hill, MD. She enjoyed gardening, travelling in her motor home, square dancing, sewing, baking, swimming into her 80's, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Earl McDonald; a daughter, Susan Pettibone; and five siblings. She is survived by three children, Donna (Frank) Hall of Henderson, NV, Andrew (Cindy) McDonald of Annandale, VA, and Maria (Jim) Kuhns of Crofton, MD; a son-in-law, Russell Pettibone; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD on Monday, December 9 at 10 am. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Military Order Of The Purple Heart, 5413 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151.
