Francis Burtis - Obituary

rancis “Ed” Edward Burtis, 82, a life long Annapolitan, died on March 19, 2010 at Gilchrist Center-Hospice Care in Towson, MD after a long illness. Born April 14, 1927 in Annapolis, MD, he attended schools in the Annapolis area and the University of Maryland. Ed was employed as an engineer with the Maryland Highway Administration. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Edith Cadell Burtis; his daughter, Jillian Hunter of Annapolis, MD; and his sister, Claire B. Fowler of Annapolis, MD. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 24 at 1pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment private.
