Francis Czajkowski - Obituary

E

laine Czajkowski sadly shares that her beloved husband of 51 years, Frank Czajkowski (Captain U.S. Naval Reserve - Ret.) has joined his eternal home on January 23, 2025. Frank rejoins his mother, Helen Czajkowski (née Betley), his father, Francis William Czajkowski, his younger brother, Joseph A. Czajkowski and many beloved cousins, relatives and lifelong friends. Frank is survived by his wife, Elaine; his brothers, Ronald “Ronnie” Czajkowski and William “Billy” Czajkowski; his children, Louis A. Buckbinder and wife Karen, Lynne A. Harbin and husband Charlie, Kenneth Buckbinder and wife Denise, Leonard Buckbinder and wife Carlyn and daughter-in-law, Julie Czajkowski. His eight grandchildren: Denise Ganucheau, Kristin Baldridge, Matthew Buckbinder, Colin Buckbinder, and Emily Zhang-Buckbinder, Johnny, Andrea, Billy Czajkowski, and 7 great-grandchildren loved and admired their PopPop. Born October 27, 1933, Frank loved growing up in Wilmington, DE where he graduated from Salesianum School. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 1955 after graduating from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. He cherished Saint Joe’s, his Philadelphia Eagles, his active-duty time in the Navy - on the USS Enterprise, and as a reservist for 30 years. Friends he made in flight school, he maintained forever. After joining the reservists, Frank worked at the DIA shortly after it formed, preparing daily presidential intelligence briefings. Frank had a happy spirit, was an outstanding conversationalist, had limitless patience, and a love that knew no end. He was a deeply faithful Catholic parishioner of Saint Mary’s in Annapolis, MD and prayed daily for each family member. A viewing will begin at 10am on Thursday, January 30th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035 followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Saint Mary’s Parish. Online condolences may be offered by visiting the Memories link on this page.
