Francis Paul Gunde - Obituary

rancis Paul Gunde, 61, a resident of Brooklyn, MD for 10 years and previously of Washington, DC,died on Thursday, May 18 at his home. Born on December 30, 1955 in Washington, DC, to the late Joseph and Helen Gunde, Francis was an Information Technology Professional. He was a member of the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington, the Fort Washington, MD chapter of the Harley Owners Group, and the Woodworkers Association. In his spare time, Francis enjoyed motorcycles, woodworking, cooking and learning the guitar. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Diane Gunde; his daughter, Helen Carlson of Forestville, MD; his stepson, Henry Haase of Brooklyn, MD; his brother, Joseph (Peggy) Gunde of Davidsonville, MD; his sister, Patricia Poole of Annapolis, MD; his granddaughters, Mia Carlson and Mya Adams; nieces, Rachael Faulkner and Lauren Poole and nephews, Jack Poole and Gary Gunde. Friends are invited to celebrate Francis' life on Tuesday, May 23 from 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where his funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Cemetery in Owings, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West River Center Camperships, P.O. Box 429, Churchton, MD 20733.
