Francis Glenn Winkler “Wink”, “Glenn”, 81, a 15 year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Ellicot City, MD, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, after a brief illness.

Glenn was born on October 9, 1940, in Baltimore, MD to the late Frederick and Louise Winkler. He was the owner of Winkler’s Inc., a metal fabrication and welding company. His interests included fishing and boating.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his four siblings, Lawrence Winkler, Vale Robinson, Shirley Doyle, and Dorothy Bowers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Mueller, his brothers, Joseph Winkler of Taylorsville, Utah, Wayne Winkler of Woodbine, MD, and Jerry Winkler of North Carolina.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Glenn’s memory to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. From birth to death his life was marked by hurried pace, it’s known,
Now came this illness with its strength to call his name it's own.
As a boy, Glenn’s family poor, he struggled to survive,
Then as a man, there was the drive, to build a business, make it thrive.
A man with talents that abounded, often praise came not unfounded,
He’d dreamed success and made it true in the company he founded.
He loved his wife, his friends, his boat, on Chesapeake they’d fish and float.
And on the dock he took great pleasure, spending time with friends; a treasure.
Glenn was a man with a tender soul, making friends a lifetime goal.
At drawing laughs he was a pro, a complex man, he was to know.
So, like the stormy seas he faced and calming waves he rode, I think he’d bravely shrug it off and follow his own code.
He’d dance a little turn and say, “I’m sorry friends but I can’t stay”.
