rank Eugene Cowens, “Old Fart”, a twenty year resident of Anne Arundel County died on April 19 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Born on August 16, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to the late Frank F. and Naomi A. Cowens, Frank graduated from Falls Church High School in Falls Church, VA and was a HVAC technician with the Department of the Navy for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. O’Hare and U.S.S. Lexington and was a member of the Free Masons, American Legion and Clinton United Methodist Church. Frank enjoyed billiards and was a self proclaimed billiards player extraordinaire. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren, friends and family. He is survived by a son, Daniel W. Cowens of Harwood; two daughters, Theresa L. DeHart of Edgewater and Peggy Cowens of Annapolis; a sister, Marjorie Boyd of Alexandria, VA; three grandsons, Jay A. Elliott of LaPlata, Brian C. Dandridge of Edgewater and Dylan M. Cowens of Harwood and three granddaughters, Mia R. Greene of Laurel, Alana N. Elliott of Edgewater and Alyssa R. Cowens of Harwood. Friends are invited to Frank’s Life Celebration on Monday, April 22 from 6 to 8pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Rd., Edgewater where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11am. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to, Anne Arundel Medical Center, 2001 Medical Pkwy., Sajak #550, Annapolis, MD 21401.
