Frank Denison - Obituary

fter a courageous battle with lung cancer, Frank Dwight Denison passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Charles County on Monday, September 16, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Washington, D. C. on July 18, 1945, to the late Dwight Kellogg and Evelyn Mae (Hardrup) Denison. He graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1963. He married Sue O'Brien, also from the Class of '63, on May 8, 1965. After graduation Frank worked briefly for Western Electric. In 1966 he joined the D.C. Air National Guard working at Andrews AFB as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief. He retired from the Guard in 2000. He also worked 38 years for Denison Landscaping as Vice President of Residential Sales. Frank is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue O'Brien Denison; daughter, Lisa Denison (Greg); son, Frank Denison; granddaughter, Devon Denison; sister, Patricia Gallahan and three brothers, Dwight (Diana), Duane (Gail) and John and sister-in-law, Judy Kogok (George). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Denison Mona. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 25 from 5 to 8pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD and on Thursday, September 26 at Evangel Assembly of God, 5900 Old Branch Avenue, Temple Hills , MD from 11am until service time at 12noon. Interment at a later date at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Charles County.
