t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francis Joseph Stein due to complications associated with Parkinson’s disease. Frank was born in Baltimore City at the family home on Lombard Street in 1943 to the late Joseph and Mary Stein. Frank grew up in Baltimore City and continued throughout his life to be an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. Even after relocating to Fort Myers, Florida in 2012, he continued to follow everything Baltimore sports related.
Frank retired after 30 years of service with the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigation Division. Frank was known as a “gentle giant” who mentored countless State troopers and young aspiring investigators who to this day thank him for the many life lessons he shared.
Frank is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bonnie Bressler Stein; his children, Paul, Christopher, David Edwards and Michelle Randolph and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Frank cherished nothing more than time spent with his family.
Friends are invited to celebrate Frank’s life on Friday, November 14 from 1 pm until his funeral service begins at 3 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A reception will follow. Burial will be private at a later date.
