Frank Synowiec - Obituary

rank S. Synowiec, Sr., a 25 year resident of Tracy's Landing, and previously of Hillcrest Heights, MD died suddenly on Thursday May 15, 2008 of natural causes, he was 91. Born on May 9, 1917 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Joseph and Helen Synowiec, he graduated from Central High School in Wheeling, WV. He worked as a machinist at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. during World War II, and later worked as a production specialist with the Defense Mapping Agency of the Federal Government. He was one of the first television repairmen, repairing televisions from his home. He was a 4th degree Knight with the Admiral Benson Assembly #381,also a member of the Knights of Columbus-South County Council #8251 at Our Lady of Sorrows. He was also a jack of all trades with the ability to fix anything. He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years Eleanor A. Synowiec, whom he married June 21, 1941, two sons, Richard Synowiec of Detroit, Michigan and Frank S. Synowiec, Jr., of Edgewater and 6 daughters, Joanne Swann of Stuart, Florida, Patty Bricken of Fredericksburg, VA, Christy Meehan of Port Royal, VA, Mary Miller of Middletown, MD, Eileen Daniels of Jamestown, Kentucky and Karen Giaconia of Martinez, CA. Survived by one brother Joseph Synowiec of Wheeling, WV, he was pre-deceased by one brother and one sister. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.He is predeceased by 1 grandson and 1 great-granddaughter. Relatives and friends are invited to Frank's Life Celebration on Thursday May 22, from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday May 23, at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD. Interment church cemetery.
