Fred A. Hodges, Sr. - Obituary

red A. Hodges, Sr., 63, a resident of Churchton, MD for over 20 years and previously of Laurel, MD passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Fred was born on December 21, 1959, in Takoma Park, MD, and was a 1978 graduate of Atholton High School in Columbia, MD. Fred worked for the Architect of the Capitol and was a member of the Deale Elks Lodge #2528. Fred enjoyed Fishing, watching NASCAR and old cars. He also loved working on projects out in his shed, spending time with friends and family and enjoyed a good beer down at Happy Harbor. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Carol Ann Hodges, and his parents Howard Lee and Betty Marie Blackard. He is survived by his children, Fred Hodges, Jr. and his wife Danielle of Harwood, MD, and his daughter, Samantha Hodges of Churchton, MD, his siblings, Lee Blackard of York, PA, Diane Hedlund of Harwood, MD, Darlene Hodges of Laurel, MD and Kathy Murphy of Calabash, NC, his grandson Devin Franklin and grand dog, Dixie Hodges. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fred's life on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
