red William “Repp” Reppenhagen, Jr., 74, a 30-year resident of the Cape Saint Claire community in Annapolis, MD died on Monday, December 13 at the Washington Hospital Center. Born March 30, 1936 in Eastport, MD to the late Mildred Mae Parks and Fred William Reppenhagen, Sr., he attended Annapolis High School. Fred served in the United States Air Force from 1954-57. He was employed as an Annapolis City Fireman from 1958-72 and was a past First Aid instructor for the American Red Cross. He was employed as a Security Officer for Anne Arundel Medical Center from 1973 until his retirement in 1992. Fred was a member and Treasurer of the Annapolis Police and Fire Retirees Association. Fred was a past member at large of the Maryland Salt Water Sportfishermen’s Association (M.S.S.A.). He was a past President and Vice President for the Broadneck Chapter of the M.S.S.A., later becoming a member of the Kent Island Chapter. Fred was a Charter Member of the Kent Island Elks. He enjoyed making crafts, fishing, hunting and watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley Lee Reppenhagen; three sons, Kevin R. Reppenhagen, Michael Sondergard and Roy Reppenhagen, all of Annapolis, MD; two sisters, Shirley Tracy of Annapolis, MD and Nellie Magruder of Delaware; he is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Fred was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Donaldson. Friends are invited to Fred’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, December 17 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, where services will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 1pm. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville will be private. If friends wish contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
