Freda Moy - Obituary

reda Starr Moy, 88, a resident of Riva, MD for over 40 years died on December 20, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes. Born May 27, 1921 in Asheville, NC, she was a homemaker most of her life. She was active in the Good News Jail Ministry, where she taught the women inmates sewing, crocheting and the bible. Freda was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Edgewater, where is sang in the choir. She was an artist (painting and drawing), professional seamstress and enjoyed cooking. Freda was an multi talented, amazing woman who loved people. She was the beloved wife of Richard S. Moy, Sr., who died April 25, 1971; mother of Rick Moy of Edgewater, MD, Lani Carlow of Mayo, MD, Patty Lewis of Churchton, MD and Priscilla Moy of Edgewater, MD; survived by 5 sisters, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2pm at 1st Baptist Church of Edgewater, 38 West Central Avenue, Edgewater, Maryland 21037. Interment Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11am.
