rederick “Fred” W. Shockley, 67, a 6-year resident of Pawleys Island, SC and previously of the Willows in Chesapeake Beach, MD and Tracys Landing, MD died on May 28, 2011.
He was born on July 29, 1943, to Mary and the late Lester Shockley. Fred was a member of the True Blue Golf Plantation and Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island, SC and Masonic Pecan Grove Lodge #222 in Lake Providence, LA. Fred's passion was golfing. He enjoyed recreational shooting, wood carving, boating and was a big gamester. Fred was a 5 star chef and a 10 star friend. He loved his dogs, Beau, Bailey, Coco and his girlie Saba.
In addition to his mother, Fred is survived by his wife, Connie Shockley, whom he married on May 11, 1994; son, Boone Shockley and wife Jen of Port Republic, MD; daughter, Stacey Wells and husband Glenn of Edgewater, MD; cousin, Tommy Shockley of Lake Providence, LA; also survived by 3 grandchildren, Faith, Cheyenne and Hawkins Shockley.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Adam’s Ribs, 169 Mayo Rd., Edgewater, MD.
