Gabriel Fleri - Obituary

n Saturday, August 3, 2013,Gabe passed into the open arms of his loving Jesus. Loving husband of Luckie Fleri; brother of Nancy Fleri; Uncle of Lisa (Rob) Redden, Michael (Laura) Wiener and Nicole (Matthew) Jackson. Relatives and friends are invited to Gabe's Life Celebration on Wednesday, August 7 from 6-8pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. where services will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 11am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Moose Lodge 1856, 15103 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, MD. 20772. Please leave your thoughts and memories by signing the guestbook located above. Gabriel Salvatore Fleri was born in Washington, D.C. March 24, 1942 to Joseph and Annie Fleri. He is survived by his sister Nancy. He attended Saint Teresa's Grade School, Anacostia High School, and Chamberlin Vocational school where he learned to be a barber. He was so very proud of his Sicilian/Italian heritage, his Christian belief's, and the wonderful friendships he made in his lifetime. In Gabe's words, "the greatest place to grow up in, South East, and the greatest friends a guy could ever have"! Anyone who knew Gabe, knew he was a wonderful cook! He also enjoyed photography, and gardening. He and his wife Luckie had a loving relationship for over 42 years. He adored his niece's, nephew's, great nieces, great nephews, and their spouses (Lisa, Rob, Nicki, Matt, Robbie, Rachel, Peyton, Brady, Mike and Laura) and many of his friends children who he was endearingly known as Uncle Gabe as well. He was loved, and will be missed more than words can say. He is now in the loving arms of his savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven.
