Some of his hobbies included crabbing, growing his vegetable garden, and rooting on the Redskins and Yankees. His favorite days were spent soaking up the sun while listening to classic country and calypso music with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Gabe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne, and his daughter, Cathy Bailey. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Veronica, Alice, Evelyn, and Ronnie, and his brother, Andre.
