Gale Lee Heim - Obituary

ale Lee Heim, 69, a resident of Frederick, MD for nine years and previously of Hyattsville, MD, died after a brief illness on October 14, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born on August 9, 1950 in Washington, DC to the late Jim and Jean Turner Hubbard. Gale graduated in 1968 from Northwestern High School. She was a Senior Loan Processor with Maryland Federal for twenty-five years and a Senior Office Manager with NOAA for fourteen years. Gale was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the PTA and was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed gardening, painting, decorating, reading and Candy Crush. Gale is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Gordon H. Heim; her daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Pickens and Meredith (Kenny) Smith; her grandchildren, David and Caitlin Pickens, Elizabeth (Joshua) Mayberry and Wade and Bonnie Smith; her siblings, James (Judy) L. Hubbard, Jr., George (Kathie) D. Hubbard, and the late Steven (Sharon) L. Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Gale's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, October 18 from 10 am until her funeral service begins at 11 am. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
