Gary Carrick - Obituary

ary Lane Carrick, 73, a lifelong resident of Davidsonville, MD, passed away on April 2, 2024, after a long, valiantly fought battle with cancer. A veteran of the US Navy and a local business owner, Gary loved fishing in just about any body of water and, in his younger years, could frequently be found fishing with his boys. He was an avid bowler for many years and made lifelong friends during his days in the leagues. Gary enjoyed traveling and camping and spent a great deal of his retirement doing so with his wife, Regina, at his side. Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Regina Doris Carrick nee Phipps; his sons, Allen (Tracy) Carrick of Shady Side, MD, and Greg (Pam) Carrick of Riva, MD; proud grandfather of Noah, Ashleigh, Veronica, Brandon, Kaitlin and Emily and the much-loved great grandfather of Josie. He is also survived by a sister, Kathy Lynch of Hampstead, MD, and a sister-in-law, Joan (Irving) Webb of Fort Myers, FL. He also leaves behind a community of friends and neighbors with whom he spent many happier days. Friends are invited to celebrate Gary’s life on Wednesday, April 10, from 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 am.
