enevieve D. Horan, "Jean," a 35-year resident of Edgewater, MD, died on Friday, December 2, 2016, in Severna Park, MD. She was 85.
Born March 22, 1931, to the late James and Hilda Divver, she graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, DC. Jean started her career with the federal government at the Department of Education before managing her husband's plumbing and heating business for over 30 years. Jean enjoyed reading, bowling, politics and movies. She also loved spending time with her daughter, Kim. Jean will always be remembered as a tough Irish woman.
Her husband of 56 years, James F. Horan preceded her in death in 2006.
Jean is survived by five daughters, Kim Horan of Crozet, VA, Kathy Rhodes of Edgewater, MD, Debra Horan-Sholl of Davidsonville, MD, Jeani Kerley of Delmar, MD and Linda Ott of Cocoa Beach, FL; and four grandchildren, Chris Sholl of Davidsonville, MD, Sarah Ott of Bethesda, MD, Anna Ott of Monterey, CA and Allie Sholl, world traveler . She is also survived by 4 sons-in-law, Bill Rhodes, Wyatt Kerley, Dave Sholl and Wes Ott.
Family and friends will gather to celebrated her life at a later date.
