Geoffrey R. McDaniel - Obituary

eoffrey Reed "Geoff" McDaniel, 50, an 8 year resident of Annapolis and previously of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 in Toronto, Canada. Born on April 2, 1971 in Washington DC to Robert and Francia McDaniel, Geoff attended the United States Naval Academy and served honorably for 24 years retiring as a Boatswain's Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2017. Geoff served in multiple campaigns, including Desert Storm, Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Haiti Relief, and Operation Freedom. He later worked as the Director of Site Security for Eyewitness Acquisition/Stealth Monitoring from 2007 until his death. He was an active member of the St. John Evangelist Catholic School Parent Association and the Chief Petty Officers Association. He was a baseball and football enthusiast and also enjoyed coin collecting. In addition to his parents, Geoff is survived by his wife, Adrianna McDaniel; three children, Sara, Katherine and Francis McDaniel; two brothers, Robert (Susan) and Eric (Sarah) McDaniel and four nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Geoff's life on Sunday, December 12 from 2 to 4pm and Monday, December 13 from 6 to 8pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, December 14 at 12 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 408 South Chester St., Baltimore, MD 21231. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org/) or to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
