George E. Bergmann - Obituary

eorge E. Bergmann, 78, a 30-year resident of Riva, MD, passed away on June 11, 2023, in Annapolis, MD, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. George was born on September 29, 1944, in Baltimore, MD to the late Karl and Virginia Bergmann. George earned his science degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland and worked as a System Administrator for Lockheed Martin in support of the US Air Force. George served in the US Navy as a Cryptologist from 1963-1965. George enjoyed boating, working outside in his yard, spending time with his granddaughters and he especially adored his pet dogs and cats. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife Laura Bergmann. He is survived by his two daughters, Kara Bergmann of Crofton, MD, and Lauren Dudley, and her husband Barry, of Riverside, NJ, and one brother, Karl Bergmann of Aiken, SC. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Abigail and Emma Dudley, both of Riverside, NJ. Family and friends are invited to celebrate George’s life on Saturday, June 24th from 10:30 am until his memorial service begins at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment is private.
