George S. Ceroy - Obituary

eorge Ceroy, 96, formerly of York, PA, passed away on March 11, 2021. He was the husband of Leona, his wife of 66 years until her death in 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and after serving in the U.S. Marines, he relocated to York where he worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company until retiring after 33 years. George was a passionate fisherman, sharing his skill with many. As a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Church in York, he enjoyed ushering and volunteering in their cafeteria. He also enjoyed dancing with the White Rose Square Dancers, volunteering at the York Crisis Pregnancy Center and competing in the Senior Olympics. He is survived by his four children, Barbara, Karen, Stephen and Patricia; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Frydewicz of Pittsburgh; and a godson, John Orendorff.
