eorge L. Dumbauld, a 32- year resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, MD, died on October 14, 2017. Born in Glenshaw, PA to George L. and Olive Simpson Dumbauld on July 21, 1925, George graduated from Franklin and Marshall Academy in 1943 and enlisted in the Army Corps of Engineers that same year. At the age of 18, he served in the European Theatre during the Normandy invasion, arriving on Omaha Beach on Day 1. After his military discharge, George attended University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, he became employed with Sears in many capacities, including manager of stores in Kingston, PA, Glen Burnie, MD and White Oak, MD. He also served as President of the Glen Burnie, Chamber of Commerce. He left Sears to work for Montgomery Ward as manager of the Chicago Ford City store until retiring in 1985 and returning to Maryland where he enjoyed endless hours on his boat fishing and crabbing as well as playing lots of golf. George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Dumbauld; daughter Margaret Radway (Jeffrey); son George B. Dumbauld (Ursula) two stepdaughters Donna Ingram and Andrea Peterson (Donald); 10 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Paula Samsury, stepdaughter Dina Bunn, sister Margaret OShurak and son-in-law John Ingram. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, on Sunday, October 22 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23 at 11:30 AM.
