George Eugene Folk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to the Lord peacefully on April 2nd, 2025 at the age of 88. He was born on April18th, 1936 in Martinsburg, West Virginia to Pearl and George Folk. He grew up surrounded by a family that instilled in him a deep sense of compassion, integrity, and work ethic. George devoted his life to his family, his community, and his passions. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, sense of humor and generosity. He dedicated much of his career to building and owning Bethesda Chevy Chase Painting Company, where his skills and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of employees and clients. George was a believer in Christ, often sharing his faith and love for the Lord with anyone who crossed his path. His legacy is defined by selflessness, kindness, and a steadfast commitment to making the world a better place. George enjoyed being outdoors whether he was relaxing in the pool or tending to his tomato plants. One of his greatest joys was selecting and delivering gifts or necessities to his children and grandchildren. Together with his loving wife Margie, George ensured that Christmas, Easter, birthdays or any family gatherings were always filled with warmth and the joy of his smile and hugs. George is survived by his loving wife, Margie Folk; his sons, John Folk and Donnie Folk; his three daughters, Terri Lynn Buckley, Terri Cohen, and Gina DeHaven; and his two step-daughters, Donna Vaughan and Debbie Lombel. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl; his father, George; his brother, Bubbie; his sister, Connie; and his grandson, Joseph. We take comfort in knowing that George is now in heaven, sitting with baby Joseph on his lap, talking with his mother and all other family members, patiently waiting to be reunited with those that are mourning his passing. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace, and as always, love Jesus. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
