eorge Thomas Jenkins, "Tommy, Pop, Cool Breeze", 78, a resident of Shady Side, MD and previously of New Freedom, PA, died on Thursday, January 3 at his home after an eleven year struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on August 12, 1940 in Washington, DC to the late George and Mildred Jenkins, Tommy was a graduate of Suitland High School and was the owner operator of Pressman's Bindery, Inc. He also worked for thirty years as a wholesaler/ buyer with Fitzgerald Auto Mall. Tommy loved animals, especially his dog, Cotton. He enjoyed watching good westerns, Roy Rogers, Lone Ranger, Gene Autry, etc., in his recliner, football, classic cars-especially '56 Chevys and being with his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his companion, Kathleen Walsh; his children, Richard Thomas (Stephanie) Jenkins of Annapolis, MD, Thomas Scott (Jeny) Jenkins of Hagerstown, MD and Megan Walsh of Mt. Airy, MD; his brothers, Garry and Daniel Jenkins; his grandchildren, Luke, Corinne and Olivia Jenkins and Mia Shelton and many other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to celebrate Tommy's life with his family at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday, January 10 from 11 am until his funeral service begins at 1 pm.
