George Maloney - Obituary

eorge E. Maloney, Sr. George “3 Fingers” Edward Maloney, Sr., 80, of Lothian for the last 25 years and a previously of Edgewater for 17 years and also of Seat Pleasant, MD died on December 6, 2008 at the Tate Hospice House of lung cancer after an 8 week illness. Born July 23, 1928, to the late Rose and William Walter Maloney, he was employed at the Prince George's County Public Works. Mr. Maloney served his country while in the United States Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. George's hobbies included wood working, needlework and CB radio.He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Maloney, who died in August of 2008 and Ann Elizabeth Maloney, who died in January of 1990; father of George Steward of Annapolis, MD, Rose Hasson, Maryann Duncan and Ricky Maloney all of Six Mile, SC, Daniel Maloney, Sr. of Owings, MD, Sharon Schroth of Edgewater, MD, Hank Maloney of Easley, SC and the late Carolyn Childs; brother of Harry Maloney of Ft. Washington, MD, John Maloney of Columbia, MD and the late William Walter Maloney, Jr. and Daisy Maloney; also survived by 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to George's Life Celebration on Tuesday, December 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where services will be held on Wednesday at 3pm. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens,Davidsonville, MD.
