apt. George Adam Prenant, 76, of Deale, died March 25 of natural causes.
George was born on May 21, 1935, in Paris, France and moved to Virginia as a young boy. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school, and met his wife of 54 years, Ruby. They raised their only daughter, Donna Jean, in Fairfax City, VA. In 1969, George and Ruby fell in love with Deale, and bought a summer home there. At the age of 48, George retired from Chevrolet where he spent his career with his other love, Chevy cars and trucks. George and Ruby moved to Deale and started AAA Charters.
AAA Charters became Capt. George's life. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge of the bay with all those that came aboard. Fish was not the only thing that George "reeled in." His love of the bay was contagious, and his son-in-law, Jeff, became Capt. Jeff, and his grandson, Capt. Jacob, followed in his footsteps as a small boy. Admiral Ruby, daughter Donna Jean and grand-daughter Amber were always waiting for them at the dock. The legacy of Capt. George will live on forever through the hearts of his family, present and future. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jeff Henderson; his grandchildren, Jacob and Amber; and his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nicolas, Trevor and Adam.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 5965 Deale-Churchton Rd., Deale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the SPCA of Annapolis, P.O. Box 3471, Annapolis, MD 21403.
