G

eorge Roach, Jr. went home to be with the Lord and the Angels quietly in his sleep on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:45 a.m. in the morning after a long battle with leukemia and a brain injury. George was born May 8, 1939 in Beaufort, SC but was raised in Mullin, SC to his late parents George Roach, Sr. and Ruth Ella Tyler Roach. He was born amongst nine siblings. Woodrow (deceased); James (deceased); Robert (deceased); Rebecca Lorraine (deceased); Betty (deceased); Jack (deceased); Lilian (deceased); Willie and half-brother Thomas. George attended public schools in South Carolina until he left home and came to DC in November 1960 And gotten employment with D.A. Foster Company on November 8, 1960 until August 1, 2012. He met and married his first wife, Peolia Roach on August 25,1962 to which three children were born in the marriage Dewayne, Reginald and Sandra. George was a very hard working man, a wonderful personality and he had a wonderful knack with children. George was affectionately called “Pop Pop” and “Mr. George.” He loved to do handywork, tinkering around with cars, watching football games , watching western movies and Gunsmoke. Most of all, he loved his cups of Folger’s Coffee because he believed in the slogan “The best part of waking up, is Folger’s in your cup.” George was a hard and dedicated worker on his job at D.A. Foster Company because he REALLY LOVED his work and enjoyed interacting with his co-workers, his supervisor, Dave Thompson, Bill Hackney, Mike Brown, Melissa and others too numerous employees To mention. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Beverly, his sons Dewayne and Reginald and his daughter, Sandra His daughter-in-law Lisa, his brothers Willie and his wife Letha ; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grand Children, his stepchildren, Lakita; Lawrence; Shavon; Dwayne; Antwon;. Michelle; Tosha; Lorretta; And Tawanna. One stepson-in-law Michael; stepdaughter-in-law Keionete; twenty-four stepgrandchildren; fourteen sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-laws and a host of other relatives and friends and co-workers.
