George Weidman - Obituary

eorge William Weidman, 82, a 3-month resident of Deale, MD and previously a 47-year resident of Davidsonville, MD died of natural causes on November 19 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center following a short illness. Born August 20, 1927 in Pennsylvania, he served in the U. S. Navy. From 1967 until his retirement in 2007, he was the owner of Weidman and Son Contracting Co. Mr. Weidman enjoyed boating and was a member of the Chesapeake Yacht Club in Shady Side. He was also a member of B.P.O.E. 622 in Annapolis and American Legion Post 0007 in Annapolis; he was a former member of the Fleet Reserve Club. Most of all, Mr. Weidman enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Doris Weidman, whom he married on July 20, 1950; one son, Mark Weidman and his wife, Ginny, of Deale, MD; a brother, Robert Weidman of Florida; a sister, Althea Robinson of Reisterstown, MD; and three grandchildren, Michael Weidman, Matthew Weidman and Stephen Beitzel. He was also the brother of the late James Weidman and Mary Walrath. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, November 22 at 2 P.M. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 N Bldg A, Gambrills, MD 21054.
