Georgia Lee Cannon - Obituary

eorgia Lee Cannon, 89, a 69-year resident of Delmar, MD, passed away on May 30, 2018 in Annapolis, MD. Born on August 13, 1928 in Bethel, DE, Georgia Lee graduated in 1947 from Laurel High School in Delaware. She worked for 15 years as a waitress at The Dutch Inn in Laurel and 38 years as a lunch lady at the Delmar Jr. Sr. High School. Georgia Lee was a member of the Compassionate Shepherd Ministries in Laurel. She enjoyed keeping up with current and political events, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Georgia Lee was preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Herbert C. Cannon, who died in 1977. She is survived by two sons, Wayne H. Cannon of Ocean City, MD and R. Alan Cannon of Bethel, DE; one daughter, Susanne C. Tewey of Annapolis, MD; three grandsons, Jeffrey R. Cannon, Noah B. Tewey and Adam J. Tewey; one granddaughter, Amanda Ruby Paige; and two great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. until a memorial service begins for Georgia Lee at 11 a.m. at Delmar High School, 200 North Eighth Street, Delmar, DE. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
