Gerald Lee Canty - Obituary

erald Lee “Jerry” “JC” Canty, age 82 and a 25 year resident of the Annapolis and Davidsonville areas, died peacefully on December 9, 2022. Born March 21, 1940 in Illinois to Raymond and Lois Canty, he graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL and attended Bradley University. He served his country in the US Army from 1963-67, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he began a 42 year career with the federal government as a computer analyst, retiring in 2007. JC was a huge sports fan and especially enjoyed golf, bowling and softball. JC is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Canty; his children, Steven (wife Emily) Canty of San Diego, CA and Linda Canty of Annapolis; his grandchildren, Madeleine, Jackson and Cecelia Canty; and a brother, Raymond Canty of Springfield, IL. Services and interment are private.
