G

erald Steven Schultz, 65, of Alexandria, Virginia. was called home to be with his Lord and Savior after a short illness on April 3, 2026. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend, and will be deeply missed. Gerald was born on April 8, 1960, in Spokane Washington to Raymond W. and Alice E. Schultz. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1984 with a degree in computer science. Gerald served as a career civil servant for the Department of the Army for over 40 years, with his last duty assignment at Fort Belvoir, VA. He was a devoted patriot who faithfully served his country with a strong sense of duty and love for his nation. Gerald loved to travel and explore destinations around the world, including trips associated with his interest in family ancestors. He also loved spending time with family and taking care of his beloved Yorkie named Coco. Gerald deeply loved his family and remained closely connected throughout his life. He made it a priority to stay in touch through regular visits with his brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Those times spent together brought him great joy and were among his most treasured moments. Most importantly, Gerald was a man of faith who trusted in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as an active parishioner at St. Philips Catholic Church, Camp Springs, Maryland. His faith sustained him throughout his life and brought him peace, especially in his final days. We take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, free from suffering and at rest for eternity.
