Geraldine B. Leavers - Obituary

eraldine “Jerri” B. Leavers, also known as “Granny” of Queen Anne, MD passed away on January 15, 2026. She was 81 years old. She was born in Dunn, North Carolina on December 14, 1944 to the late Leondas and Civil Bass. She grew up in Sampson County, NC and attended high school there. Those who knew Jerri knew she was a spitfire. She brought joy to many people with her headstrong and fierce presence. She worked up until she was 80 and wouldn’t have had it any other way. Before retirement, she worked at Exxon on West Street in Annapolis for many years. She had also worked at Bingo World before that. She loved going to Harrington Casino, and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers L.J., Robert, Jerry, and Lonel Bass, sisters Shirley Bonham, Mildred Lee Bass, and Lois Crumpler. She is survived by her two sons, John Leavers of Queen Anne, MD and Joe (Jennifer) Leavers of Greensboro, MD, her ex husband Ronald Leavers of Braselton, GA, grandsons Brandon (Maitlin) Leavers, Bryan (Kim) Butler, Hunter Leavers, and Hayden Leavers, granddaughters Emma Leavers and Hannah Leavers, sister Mary Lucas of Dunn, NC, great grandkids Bryce Estep, Braelin Leavers, Blake Leavers, Brooks Butler, Kinley Butler, and Kamryn Butler. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Jerri's life on Friday, January 23 from 10 am until the start of her memorial service at 11 am at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road Edgewater, MD 21037.
