Gertrude Yancey - Obituary

n Tuesday, December 6, 2011 Gertrude Elizabeth Yancey, the beloved wife of the late Rev. Charles Davidson Yancey, Sr.; mother of Beatrice Yancey Smith, Charles Davidson Yancey II, Joseph Henry Yancey, Crystal Pierre Yancey, Gilbert Clyde Yancey, A. Rita Yancey Johnson, Divina Lovely Yancey and the late Mary Yancey Robinson; sister of Ethel Sandusky, Thelma Heater, and William Mitchell; and sister-in-law of Rachel Mitchell, went home to be with the Lord. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Yancey's Life Celebration on Saturday, December 10th from 10am until time of service at 11 a.m. at Temple Hills Baptist Church, 4821 St. Barnabas Rd., Temple Hills, MD. Interment will be held at Green-lawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA on Monday, December 12th at 12 p.m.
