ladys Armentrout Mason Collison, 73, of Annapolis, died Saturday, April 20 after a year’s struggle with ALS (Lou Gehring’s Disease).
Born on June 27, 1939 in Harrisonburg, VA to the late Clarence and Martha O’Rourke Armentrout, Gladys graduated in 1957 from Montevideo High School in Penn Laird, VA. She became an operator for the telephone company in Washington, DC and retired from the marketing team at AT&T in 1990.
Gladys enjoyed extensive travel, gardening, flower arranging, decorating and gatherings of the Ladies’ Club in The Meadows community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and especially enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Collison; daughter, Sheree Thoburn; three stepsons, Chris, Steve and Philip Dale Collison; four brothers, five sisters and five grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Gladys’ Life Celebration from 11 a.m. until her funeral service begins at 12 noon, Thursday, April 25 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater.
