Glenn Roy Chandler - Obituary

lenn Roy Chandler, Sr., age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018. He was living at the home he built in Accokeek, Maryland until the end of his life. He was born on March 9, 1926 in Washington, DC. At age 17, Glenn joined the Navy as a parachute rigger. He married Virginia Beatrice Grace on August 1, 1952. His hobbies included boating, fishing, camping, gardening, and tinkering in his barn. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny, and daughter, Deborah Ruth Treder. Survivors include sons, Glenn Roy Chandler, Jr. and John William Chandler, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 15769 Livingston Rd., Accokeek, MD 20607. Reception to follow. A Committal Service and Military Honors will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in the chapel.
