Gloria Jean Bochniewicz (Godo) - Obituary

n Friday, July 30, 2021, Jean Bochniewicz entered into eternal rest. Beloved wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, Jean will be forever remembered for her devotion to her family, love of travel, passion for rescue dogs, and her quick Irish wit. From family members, to friends, to her beloved pets, she dedicated her life to caring for others. Ever a trailblazer, as a young, single mother, she worked tenaciously to climb through the ranks in a competitive, male-dominated workforce; marched in equal rights rallies; and was an early advocate for AIDS victims. Her natural curiosity and determination lead her to attend an Ivy League university and complete her bachelor’s degree while working full-time. She enjoyed traveling and was able to travel extensively throughout North America and Europe. Jean is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Bochniewicz; her adoring daughters, Carrie Schilling and Laura Gavin; her cherished grandchildren, Lindsay and Aidan Gavin; her dedicated sons-in-law, Fritz Schilling and William Gavin; her sister Meriel Fulford, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Eileen Godo, sister Nancy Bielema, and brother Larry Godo. The family is planning a private service. Interment will be in the family plot at Resurrection Cemetery. Those who wish, please make memorial donations in memory of Jean to their local animal rescue.
