Gloria Ferguson - Obituary

loria (Glo) George Ferguson, 83, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died on Monday, September 7 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood. Born on August 3, 1932 in Annapolis to the late Christian F.W. and Alice M. Clarke George, Gloria attended Annapolis High School and was a supervisor with the United States Postal Service for many years. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church and a past president of the ladies auxiliary VFW Post 304 and VFW District 6. Gloria loved her family and everyone she met was her friend. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was a huge John Wayne fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Ferguson in 1991, they were married in 1950, and by her brother, Christian George in 1983. Gloria is survived by her children, Guy Christian, Gina Ramsey and Glen Kerchner, all of Annapolis; her siblings, Carroll (Bunky) George of Queenstown, MD, Evalina Ries of Scottsdale, AZ and Barbara Elliott of Queenstown, MD; her grandchildren, Athena Boyd, Jason A. Ferguson, Christopher S. Duplayee, Nathaniel A. Kelley, Jessica Wood, Drew Yaniga, Alexandra, Lauren, Hannah and Addison Ramsey; her best friend of 70 years, Betty Tillack and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 13 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
