Gloria Jean Hacker - Obituary

O

n May 3, 2022, the world lost an angel. Gloria Jean Hacker also known as “Jeannie” and “Nanny” passed away into God’s graces after a long and well lived life. Jeannie was born October 31, 1940, in Buffalo, New York. She was 81 years old. Jeannie was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and a good friend. This Is the legacy we have from you. You taught us love and how to fight, you gave us strength, you gave us hope and courage. You fought for us all, in one way or another. With the man she loved always by her side. A stronger person would be hard to find! A matriarch of her family, she was always there to give you that support and guidance that was needed. She was a good listener, a great shoulder to cry on and gave the best hugs. She was a security blanket for many. She enjoyed visits with the little ones and also video chatting with them. She enjoyed watching game shows, playing games, and being involved with family. She was a champ at Mrs. Pac Man and loved playing cards. Together again she joins her husband Donald L. Hacker and daughters Mary Bridgers and Tracy Maxfield. She survived by many loving individuals, including her sons Edward Maxfield Jr., Joseph Maxfield, Chris Maxfield Sr., Wayne Maxfield and Thomas Cheung, daughters Donna Potts, Sharon Quebral, and Lori Cheung, stepmother to Joe Greene. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 12 pm. at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745.
