loria Jean Hoffman, 77, a 44-year resident of Chester, Virginia, passed away at her home on Monday, October 23, 2017, after a courageous two year battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family.
Gloria Jean was born on September 28, 1940 to the late Leroy and Leila Nuthall. She was a graduate of Suitland High School and worked as a meat purchaser for Safeway. Gloria’s interests included; reading book and playing games on her phone. She loved family gatherings and picking crabs on the weekends and lived for the holidays.
In addition to her parents Gloria Jean was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” A. Hoffman in 2007, her brothers; William, Melvin and Mickey Nuthall and her sister Bernice Barrett.
She is survived by her loving children; Karen D. (Rebel) Hoffman of King William, VA, Patricia A.(Patrick) Kidwell of Thorntown, IN, William (Debbie) Hoffman, of Chester, VA, and Cindy L.(Steve) Jordan of Chester, VA, her grandchildren; Rebecca Rodgers, Pat(Jennifer) Kidwell, Jr., Russell Hoffman, Jr., Pamela M. Kidwell and Tyler W. Jordan. She is also survived by one great-grandson Randy Hoffman and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gloria Jean’s life on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 from 10am until 11am at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037.
