race Eileen Ciomei, 90, of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday February 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 27, 1930 in Washington, D.C., to the late Gladys Mode and Frank Yates, Grace had a passion for gardening and was an excellent cook. She loved spending time at the beach. One of Grace’s greatest joys was being with her family and celebrating all of the milestone births of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It gave her so much pleasure to watch their sporting events on the field as well as hearing about their various academic achievements. Our greatest cheerleader- Gram We Love You!! Grace was the beloved wife of the late Chester Ciomei; mother of Sharon Long of Fairfield, IA and Bobbie Lee (Mike) Ritter of Mitchellville, MD; grandmother of Michael (Tara) Ritter, Jr. and Bridget (Darren) Burns all of Annapolis, MD, Robert (Michelle) Ritter of Davidsonville, MD and Matthew (Sharon) Ritter, Sr. of Odenton, MD; great-grandmother of Lindsey, Abigail and Kelsey Ritter, Callie, Duffy, Will and Michael Burns, Samantha, Ray and Jackson Ritter, Julia, Matthew Jr. and Addison Ritter. She is also survived by her extended family, Connie Beavers and Debra (John) Beitzel and their children, Ryan, Lauren and Lindsey, and her niece Brenda Ciomei. Friends are invited to celebrate Grace's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, February 19 from 11:30 am until her funeral service begins at 1:00 pm.
