race "Buckie" Elaine Moy, 81, of Alexandria, Virginia, sadly passed away on February 12th, 2022 at UM Laurel Medical Center, in Laurel Maryland. Buckie was born in Washington, DC on January 9th, 1941 to the late Percy E. Moy Sr. and Rose H. Linton. Buckie graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Washington, DC and then went on to accept a position at Doctor's Hospital before settling in as a Medical Transcriber in the Radiology Department at Georgetown University Hospital for the next several years. After leaving Georgetown University Hospital, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and began doing volunteer work at Mt. Vernon Nursing Home. There she planned and helped to assist the residents with arts and crafts, which was a hobby she was always very passionate about. Over the years, Buckie, had several hobbies she enjoyed doing to keep her occupied in her spare time. Some of which included; Being a member of the Red Hat Club, photography, film developing, needle point, knitting, coloring, crossword puzzles, shopping, collecting, genealogy, watching TV, long conversations on the phone, traveling, sightseeing and of course spending time with her family. She also loved dining out, especially at a good buffet and rest assured, wherever she went her beloved salt shaker came along for the ride. She never left home without it! She had a love for playing Bingo and she definitely couldn't pass up a late night invite to the casino to play the slots. Most evenings you could find her sitting in the lobby of her apartment socializing with her friends that lived in her building. I'm sure they shared many laughs together. She was quite the comedian and could bring a smile to faces with minimal effort. She was a natural when it came to bringing humor to situations, which will certainly be missed by all. Although she never had children of her own, she had several nieces and nephews in which she loved to spend time with and spoil. They all thought the world of her. I'm sure each of them will cherish the fond memories they've shared together over the years. Grace "Buckie" is survived by siblings; Wallace E. Moy "Pat" (Donna) of Monks Corner, SC. Robert E. Moy "Bill" (Sandy) of Alexandria, Va. Virginia E. Patton "Tiney" (John) of Springfield, Va. Sister-in-law; Barbara Moy "Bobbie" of Cobb Island, Md. As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Percy E. Moy Jr. "Junie". Please click on the memories tab to share online memories and condolences for the family.
