reg Michael Childers, 61, of Edgewater, Maryland, was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home on March 10, 2026. While his passing has left a deep void in our lives, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the knowledge that he rests in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on June 29, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, Greg was adopted by Robert Thomas Childers and Beverly Pearl Trent Childers. He was a man of unwavering faith, with a deep passion for learning and teaching the Word of God. Greg had a gentle spirit and a unique sense of humor—often sharing silly childhood stories and bringing laughter to those who needed it most. Greg was a devoted father and grandfather whose love for his family was undeniable. As a proud father of two daughters, he rarely missed a sporting event or dance recital, and he went above and beyond for his grandchildren. He had a special fondness for animals and will be deeply missed by his beloved pup, Tera. Fiercely protective and openly loving, Greg never hesitated to show how much he cared. In his youth, Greg was a talented lacrosse player at Howard High School and enjoyed working on and riding motorcycles. After graduating, he entered the workforce, where he became known as a hardworking and dedicated employee. He served as a service coordinator for several companies, including CPI Photo, Assa Abloy, and most recently, Vision Technologies. Affectionately known as “Mr. Greg,” he was a devoted member of Edgewater Bible Church, where he faithfully attended services alongside his father and led three weekly Bible study groups. He was known for his servant’s heart, his passion for mentoring youth, and his ability to offer scripture and encouragement at just the right moment. Many described him as someone who could sense when others were hurting and respond with compassion, always reminding them of their worth in Christ. Greg intentionally shared the warmth of his faith with everyone he met. He is survived by his children, Jessica (Jeff Labofish) and Jaclyn (Steven Pilipauskis); his grandchildren, Juliana, Gunar, Hayden, Bodhi, Christian, and Gabriel; his father, Robert (“Bobby”) Childers; his brother, Kevin Childers; and his sister, Tessa Childers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Pearl Trent Childers, with whom he is now reunited in glory. Greg will be deeply remembered for his boundless generosity, kindness, and compassion. His life was a testament to selflessness and faith, and his passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. We remember him not only for his passing, but for how he lived—with a servant’s heart, steadfast faith, and a lasting impact on every life he touched. A celebration of Greg Childers' life will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 6 pm at the Selby Clubhouse, located at 3715 1st Ave. Edgewater, MD 21037. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edgewater Bible Church, honoring Greg Childers’ dedication to sharing the Gospel. (Link Below) https://www.edgewaterbiblechurch.com/give.html
