regory Antonio Edwards, Sr. (Toney) was born July 23, 1956 to Ruth D. Edwards and Marco Mccaskill (preceded in death.) Toney was educated in the DC Public School System. He worked at WSSC for 20 years and then worked security for 10 years before retiring in 2018. Toney married Sharon Lynnette Minor August 23, 1981. They were blessed with three children that they adore; Ebony Nichole (Thomas), Gregory Antonio, II (Tyra), Antwon Cortez (preceded in death). Five Grandchildren; Tirzah Nichole Edwards, Kayla Akiara Pringle, Luke Elijah Relosa, Aminah Nichole Edwards, and Giannis Antonio Edwards. Two great-grands; Jax Chaplin and Tori Chaplin. One Brother, Charles Edwards (preceded in death). Four sisters; Angela Edwards-Tisdale, Marilyn Edwards-Rosemond (preceded in death), Diane Lynn Turner, and Yvette Edwards. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to cherish his memory. Toney was very smart; he taught his children how to play chess. He was witty and had a great sense of humor; he passed his jokes and corniness down to his 1st born and last born. Middle child was not blessed with this gift. He loved board games and playing cards, he was was very competitive and passed his competitiveness on to his children.He loved the water; he swam like a fish (in the ocean). One of his passions was cooking which he inherited from his mother. He loved to eat and was the chef in the family. He was also very handy and could figure out how to fix just about anything. He will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 7th from 10-11 AM until the start of the service at 11 AM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745.
