. Katherine Fleury, "Kitty", 81, a twenty one year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Bowie, MD died on May 15, 2012. Born September 20, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frederick Nelson Smith and Anne Callahan Smith, she grew up in Bel Air, MD with her five brothers and sisters. Kitty graduated from Mount St. Agnes College and worked as a professional secretary in Baltimore. Kitty married Alexander A. Fleury in 1952. The couple lived in Towson and then relocated to raise their family in Bowie. Alex and Kitty were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where Kitty taught religious education for many years. As their family grew, Kitty renewed her career as a sales associate for Woodward & Lothrop. In their later years they settled in Heritage Harbour in Annapolis. Kitty loved to travel, and her favorite destination was the beach, especially Ocean City, MD. Kitty enjoyed playing bridge, hosting parties for friends and family, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching Oriole games. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a brother, Frederick Nelson Smith, Jr. and two sisters, Mary G. Ford and Margaret S. Raphel. Katherine is survived by her three daughters, Stephanie Fleury McGuire and her husband Tom of Granby, CT, Mary Jo Fleury Voight and her husband Brad of Bowie, MD and Alexandra Katherine Reynolds and her husband Kevin of Severna Park, MD; one brother, Robert W. Smith of Bel Air, MD and one sister, Elizabeth Adams and her husband Tom of Bel Air, MD; eight grandchildren, Meagan Katherine McGuire, Courtney Margaret McGuire, Christin Voight Fagnani and her husband Tony, Katherine Voight Nobis and her husband Kerry, Emily Madeline Voight, Alexander Patrick Reynolds, Daniel Joseph Reynolds and Michael Thomas Reynolds; also survived by six great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Kitty’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, May 18 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 533 E. Jarrettsville Rd., Forest Hill, MD on Saturday, May 19 at 10am. Interment church cemetery.
