H

armanna "Ann" Leupen, 93, died peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Stevensville, MD. Born March 17, 1920 in The Netherlands, Ann co-founded Holland Gardens Nursery with her husband, Arnold; she worked in the family-owned business located at her residence until retirement. Ann was a former President of the Young at Heart Club for seniors as well as a member of the Lions Club. Her focus in life was family and caring for those she loved. Always active, she enjoyed music and played the piano. She was creative and liked working with her hands, particularly with needle work, crafts and flowers. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Arnold Leupen in 1977, as well as two sons, John and Dick Leupen. She is survived by two sons: Jack and Bob Leupen and five daughters: Regina Growden, Johanna Leupen, Cookie Reese, Ann Ward and Tina Drennan. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Jan Groeneveld and Cor VanRoon. She is also survived by four grandsons: Randy, David, BB and Wes Leupen and six great-grandchildren. All services and interment are private.
