arold "Gumps" Richard Parker, a resident of Glenn Dale, MD and previously of Edgewater, MD, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Hyattsville, MD. He was 66.
Born November 26, 1949, in Washington, D.C. to the late David Birch Parker and Evelyn Gladys Curtin, he held various positions at Metropolitan Lithograph, United Rigging Hauling, Safeway and Gumpsters Dumpsters. Harold was a member of Iron Workers Local #5, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion and the Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed cars, trucks, motorcycles and "checking the edges."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Clyde and Patricia Parker.
Harold is survived by two children, Jeff Parker and his wife, Tabetha of Gainesville, FL and Grace E. Parker of Bowie, MD; his former spouses, Laura Parker, Linda Parker and Kathy Duley; three siblings, Charles and Bert Parker and Mary Anne Milton; four grandchildren, Carl Johnson, Shanise Hamilton and Tirzah and Bailey Parker; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to celebrate Gumps' life at the Knights of Pythias, 10 Pythian Drive, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment private.
