arry E. Ottey Jr., 78, passed away on June 9, 2026, in Annapolis, Maryland. Harry was a proud veteran who served his country in Vietnam. He lived a life defined by dedication to family, loyalty to friends, and a deep appreciation for the things he loved most. An avid sailor, Harry found peace and joy on the water. He enjoyed spending time driving his beloved Triumph, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, and sharing stories and laughter with those around him. He was always up for live music and socializing with family and friends. A proud graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School, Harry continued his education at the University of Maryland. Throughout his life, he carried with him the values of hard work, perseverance, and service. He is survived by his children: Christina Lynch and her husband, John; Kimberly Ferrer and her husband, Roman Sr.; and Harry E. Ottey III and his wife, Miglena. He was a loving grandfather to Amanda, Patrick, Rory, Dan (Ena), John, and Roman Jr., and his brother Dennis Ottey and sister-in-law. Jacqui. He leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends (especially his 12 plus crew) who will miss him greatly. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Golden Ottey. Also, his parents Harry Ottey Sr., Cecelia Kipke Ottey, sister Stephanie Ottey Koval, and brother Michael Ottey. Harry will be remembered for his strong spirit, his devotion to family, his sense of humor, and the pride he took in both his service to his country and his grandchildren of whom he was immensely proud of. A Simple Gathering will be held at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228 on June 14, 2026, from 3 to 6pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis on Monday, June 15 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who knew Harry to honor his memory by spending time with loved ones, enjoying the Chesapeake Bay, or cheering on the Ravens during football season. A special thanks to the staff at Ginger Cove for taking good care of our father. May he rest in eternal peace.
